War Declared on Purple Loosestrife

We are nearing completion of our physical removal efforts of Purple Loosestrife from the Canadian Lakes shoreline. We have mapped all observed plant locations and have pulled plants in all but one of these locations (A section of the south shore of Far West Lake along Pierce Road). While out on the Main Lakes, you may happen to observe a few plants. These random plants were either undetected (non-flowering plants are very difficult to pick out from other shoreline vegetation) initially or have sprouted out of the root systems of pulled adult plants whosr roots were not completely removed. If you see any PL and wish to be heroic, please feel free to pull the plants. Flowering plants should be bagged on site as they are begining to go into seed production phase. When ever we are out on the lakes, we will be pulling any plants we encounter. The PL control effort has been a dirty and backbreaking battle, but with vigalance, we can keep it at bay. Thank you for you interest in your lakes. Your Lake Managers
