June 2016 General Aquatic Nuisance Treatment Maps

The Main Lakes chain of lakes, Lake Laura, and Fawn Lake will be treated on June 8th 2016 as per the locations presented on the maps in this post. These treatments are very similar to those conducted over the past few decades. As per MIDEQ permit restrictions, native aquatic plants cannot be treated within 1000 feet of a flowing outlet and there is a green radial "no treatment" area in West Main depicting this restriction. The applicators will exercise all permissible options to deliver treatment to this area and we are working on a permanent amendment to the treatment permit to resolve this issue. If needed, we will use the Truxor machine to control aquatic vegetation along residential and community beach areas if necessary.
Treatments for Lake of the Clouds, Sunset Lake, Camper Lake, Kitts Lake and Rush Lake are scheduled for next week and treatment maps will be posted at that time. Swan Lake, Lost Canyon Lake and others will likely be managed with the Truxor but that is yet to be determined.
