May 30th 2013 Spot Invasive Aquatic Plant Spot Treatment Maps
On Thursday May 30th, areas of Main Lake and East Lake identified on the maps below will be treated with aquatic herbicide. The Eurasian Milfoil in East Lake will be treated with a selective and systemic herbicide. This type of herbicide will kill treated EM plants, but it takes a number of weeks before treated plants will drop out of the water column.
The Curly Leaf Pondweed in East and Main Lake will be treated with Diquat dibromide and Aquathol K contact herbicides. These herbicides are much quicker to knock plants out of the water column, and may reduce regrowth, but don't kill treated plants. All treatments are to be conducted as per MIDEQ permit restrictions. Both treatments carry a 24 hour swimming restriction in treated areas. Areas treated with Aquathol K also carry a (3) day no fish consumption restriction. Please don't hesitate to call (616-245-3818) or email (mail@summitlaboratory.com) with any questions. Thanks, Joel Steenstra
