Far West Lake and East Lake General Aquatic Nuisance Plant Contact Herbicide Treatment

Far West Lake and a portion of East Lake are slated to be treated Thursday June 13. Being shallow lakes with nutrient rich sediments, aquatic plants in these areas tend to reach the surface of the lake and create nuisances before aquatic plants in other areas of the lakes are ready to be treated. For this reason, we have been bumping up the treatment date for the areas detailed in the maps below. Placards will be posted in treatment areas as per MIDEQ permit requirements. These placards will list swimming, irrigation, and consumption fishing restrictions. We expect to treat the rest of the lakes in a similar manner next week. Maps will be posted here prior to treatment occurring.
